Welcome back, adventurers! In today's devlog, we're diving deep into the game mechanics, focusing on the intricate battle system, ally behaviors, and the unique libido mechanics that add layers of complexity and intrigue to our game.
The game is a turn-based and grid-based RPG that consists of Player turn, Enemy turns, and Ally turns in this order. He can move anywhere within walking distance and in addition to that, he gets to perform one of the following actions:
Player's Turn: Nestor's Actions
As Nestor, your turn comes first, and your options include:
- Moving: Walk within range to explore or position for attack.
***and*** one of the following action
- Attacking: Target an adjacent enemy, but beware of counterattacks.
- Activating Place Events: Engage with events in your current location.
- Ordering Allies: Direct allies to move, attack, or interact with events.
- Talking to Allies: Communicate to influence allies' behavior.
- Using Items: Heal or support yourself or adjacent allies.
- Returning to the Hub Area: Retreat to regroup.
Enemy's Turn: Static Threat
Enemies in our game are static, meaning they won't move but will attack adjacent targets. Attack them with caution, as they'll retaliate on their turn. Sometimes, an ally can end up in an adjacent space. Be vigilant.
Ally's Turn: AI and Order System
Allies, guided by AI, will wander or follow orders. If ordered, they'll persist in their task until it's completed or no longer possible.
- Busy Allies: Make allies busy to focus them on specific tasks.
- Random Wandering: Without orders, allies wander randomly.
You cannot die
You cannot die in this game !! Instead, you just faint for several turns before your health is automatically recovered. But, many things can happen in several turns. This is also true for any ally.
Kota's Libido Mechanics: A Game-Changing Twist
Kota's behavior is guided by his libido points, leading to several strategic elements:
- Libido Increase: Kota's libido increases each cycle, changing his behavior when it is above certain.
- Pursuit of Female Allies: When his libido reaches a certain point, he will start to pursue female party members. During the player's turn, there will be an icon above Kota's character referring to the targeted ally: F for Ferra and S for Sabina. He will choose the closest "available" target.
- Intervention Strategies: You can intervene in multiple ways:
- Talking to Kota: Prevent him from taking action for that turn.
- Ordering Kota: Redirect his actions.
- Making the Targeted Ally Busy: Distract the pursued ally.
- Standing Next to the Target and choose "Interrupt" when Kota approaches
Of course, there are more ways to interrupt Kota. You will discover more as you explore the game.
NTR Events: Choices affect the ending
But if you're interested in the NTR aspects of the game, the mechanics unfold in several unique ways. When standing next to a targeted ally, without interrupting Kota, three options will appear for the player: Peek, Interrupt, and Ignore.
- Peek: This option allows you to witness the unfolding scene. This choice will increase an ally's lust point by one, which plays a part in determining future NTR events.
- Interrupt: As previously mentioned, this choice halts Kota's actions for that turn and prevents any increase in the ally's lust status. It's an active intervention that can be used strategically.
- Ignore: This is akin to "Peek," but without witnessing the event. By selecting this, or if Kota approaches the targeted ally while the player is not adjacent, the game treats it as an "ignore." This results in a gain of 1 oblivion point for being oblivious, and the ally gains 1 lust point.
Each NTR event reduces Kota's libido by a certain amount. If his libido drops below the threshold, he reverts to the simple AI behavior, adding another layer to the strategy.
A key element to note is that lust points will permanently increase, and they govern the type of NTR event you will see in the future. Accumulating more lust points unlocks more explicit scenes, providing different ways to explore and experience the game's narrative and mechanics.
